Formed in Boston in 2000 after a chance meeting at a Halloween party, The Dresden Dolls quickly established themselves as a singular force in the underground music art scene. Their fusion of theatricality and punk energy helped define the "punk cabaret" genre. From winning the prestigious WBCN Rock & Roll Rumble in 2003 to collaborating with the Boston Pops at Symphony Hall, the band’s history is one of constant evolution and critical acclaim—a trajectory further propelled by a 2005 support slot with Nine Inch Nails.
The duo has shared stages with icons such as Cyndi Lauper, The Cure, Patti Smith, Panic! at the Disco, and graced major festival lineups from Glastonbury to Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Fuji Rock. Today, they are celebrated by a new generation of artists; including Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Doja Cat, and Jinkx Monsoon have all noted how Palmer’s songwriting and the band have influenced their own work.
