Most Valuable Promotions announces UK debut at Olympia featuring historic double main event

Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) today announces the company’s highly-anticipated UK debut on Sunday 5 April at Olympia, London live on Sky Sports. This major event will feature a double main event headlined by the long-anticipated clash of MVP’s British champions, “Sweet” Caroline Dubois vs. Terri “Belter” Harper, in a 10-round women’s championship bout for the unified WBO and WBC lightweight world titles.
In the historic double main event in Olympia’s historic National Hall, MVP and England’s unified super bantamweight world champion Ellie Scotney will face Mexico’s WBA world champion Mayelli Flores in a 10-round undisputed super bantamweight championship bout. Entering the fight, Scotney will be the youngest UK female boxer in history to compete for an undisputed title, and with a victory would become the youngest undisputed world champion in UK history - male or female.
The event marks the first major boxing event to be held at Olympia since its landmark £1.3bn redevelopment, reinforcing the venue’s ambition to diversify and strengthen its growing event portfolio amid the ongoing transformation. The venue is set to welcome fans to its National Hall to witness this significant moment in women’s world championship boxing.
MVP will host the kick-off press conference for the event on Friday 6 February at 1pm GMT also at Olympia. The press conference will be hosted by Andy Scott and will stream live on MVP’s YouTube channel and Sky Sports’ YouTube channel.
Caroline Dubois, MVP’s WBC lightweight world champion, said: “I'm excited to make this fight. This is a massive fight in my career and for British boxing, both a legacy fight and unification. The goal is to become undisputed world champion, and this is the first step.”
Terri Harper, MVP’s WBO lightweight world champion, said: “This fight has been a long time in the making. I’m grateful to MVP for getting it over the line. I’m excited to be headlining MVP’s first UK show!”
Joining the card will be MVP’s former undisputed champion and current #1 WBO, #1 WBA, and #7 WBC contender Chantelle “Il Capo” Cameron vs. #1 WBO welterweight contender Michaela Kotaskova. Also on the card, Mexico’s IBF super flyweight champion Irma Garcia will make a 10-round women’s world title defence against England’s Emma Dolan.
Since opening its doors in 1886, Olympia has a rich history of hosting professional boxing alongside its programme of exhibitions, sport and live events. Among the most notable bouts include Chris Eubank and Gary Stretch for WBO middleweight championship in 1991, Naseem Hamed vs Vuyani Bungu for the WBO and Lineal featherweight championships in 2000, the Prizefighter: Rees vs Lynes tournament final in 2009, and Darren Barker vs Domenico Spada for the European title in 2011.
Gareth Lloyd, Business Development Director at Olympia Events, said: “Olympia is an iconic London venue, having hosted multiple world-class sporting and boxing events over its 140-year history. As we near the final stages of our multi-billion-pound regeneration into this fantastic global destination, we are proud to honour that heritage while setting a clear benchmark for the future, welcoming MVP’s UK debut with this standout double-header event. It demonstrates how our historic halls, alongside new premium live entertainment and hospitality venues soon opening as part of the newly redeveloped estate, are ready to set the stage for global events of this scale and ambition.”
Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, co-founders of Most Valuable Promotions, said: “This event represents a major milestone for MVP as we bring our brand to the UK for the first time, and do so with Sky Sports, with a card that reflects the scale, depth, and ambition of women’s boxing today. In our double main event, Caroline Dubois vs. Terri Harper marks the long-anticipated unification between two of MVP’s elite British champions, while Ellie Scotney has the opportunity to make history and become the youngest undisputed champion the UK has ever seen. Alongside them, Chantelle Cameron fights to become a two-division champion and Emma Dolan gets her first world title shot. MVP is the global home of women’s boxing, and partnering with Sky Sports for the UK, to deliver this event will give these athletes the platform and market exposure they deserve, live from Olympia on Sunday, April 5.”
Sky’s Chief Sports Officer, Jonathan Licht, said: “Women’s boxing will return to Sky Sports this April in what promises to be an action-packed night at Olympia. British rivals Caroline Dubois and Terri Harper will go head-to-head for the unified world title, and Ellie Scotney will take on Mayelli Fores as she bids to make history as the youngest UK boxer ever to become undisputed world champion.
